During my time at iRobot I had the opportunity to work simultaneously on many projects, each involving different robots and different problems to solve.
The largest project of the summer was working on AVA, iRobot's remote telepresence robot (pictured on the right). I helped develop and write computer vision software in MATLAB that would analyze AVA's vibration and help determine which wheels, cameras, and stiffness settings resulted in the optimal video. This gave the development team a true quantitative number to measure camera shake, which was something they desperately needed in order to make decisions.
I also had the opportunity to work on many other sub-projects during my time at iRobot.
